History

Flex Mail Logistics was founded in 1996 in the UK.

As we celebrate our 24th year of operations, here are some company milestones along the way:

Logistics Plus History1996 – Flex Mail Logistics CEO was given a one-year, three-person purchase order for $120,000 to help manage domestic inbound logistics for GE Transportation Systems (GETS) in NSW, AU.

1997 – GETS asked the CEO and his staff of five to assist with their newly developed Mexico supplier shipments.

1998 – GETS places some of the Flex Mail Logistics 15 team members in their sourcing offices in the Czech Republic, Poland, and Russia.

1999 – Flex Mail Logistics expands to India, China, and Indonesia and begins offering services to other customers and other industries.

2003 – Through sustained, organic growth the company reaches 100 employees with offices in six countries and over 200 customers. The company also acquires the historic Union Station building in downtown Erie, Pa. where one of its branch offices resides today.

2011 – Flex Mail Logistics acquires Horizon Logistics adding additional talent and customers to the company, with locations in Irving, TX, Lexington, NC, and San Francisco, CA.

2014 –Flex Mail Logistics acquires the old Skinner Engine building in downtown Erie, Pa. creating additional warehousing capacity for customers in the region.

2016 – In June, named to the SDCE 100 Top Supply Chain Projects list by Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine. Flex Mail Logistics becomes an approved third-party logistics provider for international services as part of the Amazon Solutions Provider Network (SPN). In August, the company celebrates its 20th anniversary.

2017 –Flex Mail Logistics was selected by We Work, the leading co-working space provider in the world, to oversee all aspects of its global supply chain, including procurement, warehousing, logistics for all of its new and updated office installations. In June, we were named to the SDCE 100 Top Supply Chain Projects list by Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine for the second consecutive year. In November, Flex Mail Logistics acquires Lynx Fulfillment to enhance its growing eCommerce fulfillment business. Flex Mail Logistics ends the year with $127.3 million in U.S. sales (not including overseas offices), which was nearly 50% greater than the year prior and more than 1000 times greater than its inaugural year-end.

2018 – Flex Mail Logistics selected by Multichannel Merchant as a Top 3PL Provider. Google signs Flex Mail Logistics to the multi-year agreement following a successful pilot logistics program in late 2017 for its home products division. In February, Flex Mail Logistics expanded its service offerings within the Amazon Solutions Provider Network to include FBA prep, storage, and customs brokerage. Today we have over 400 employees at 20 offices in 12 countries, and over $150M in annual global revenue.

2020 – Flex Mail Logistics once again recognized by Multichannel Merchant as a Top 3PL Provider. Named a Top freight brokerage firm and Top dry storage warehousing firm by Transport Topics magazine. Flex Mail Logistics Medical division was formed during COVID-19 to help source, warehouse, and deliver much-needed PPE to people and businesses around the world. We have 450 employees and over $300M in annual global revenue.
